Description

The aim of this project is to develop comprehensive mortality profiles and investigate the role of housing status in deaths amongst people with lived experience of homelessness in Western Australia. The project objectives are to (i) develop comprehensive mortality profiles of PEH in WA based on coronial data, including with respect to age, cause of death, and amenability to early intervention or treatment, (ii) investigate the extent to which known medical treatments (e.g., cancer treatments) were being utilised by individuals in our cohort around the time of their deaths, (iii) investigate and characterise the extent to which past and present living situation/housing status is documented in Australian coronial data and (iv) investigate the extent to which the living situation/housing status of PEH in our cohort prior to and at the time of their deaths played a role in those deaths.
