Description

Camera trap data package from the Wildlife Observatory of Australia's Wildlife Camera Database. Dataset ID: QLD_SEQ_BrushTailedRockWallaby_Maitz_2022-2023_WildObsID_0050. This study investigated the post-fire habitat use (2-4 years post-fire) of brush-tailed rock-wallabies (Petrogale penicillata) and co-occurring wildlife across the Great Dividing Range of southeastern Queensland, Australia. The region was severely affected by the 2019–2020 megafires. Using a control-impact design, we deployed camera trap arrays across 33 sites including Mount Barney, Main Range, Lockyer, and Crows Nest national parks, and Glen Rock State Forest. Sites were stratified by wildfire impact (13 within, 20 outside the fire footprint) and selected by overlaying fire severity mapping with rock-wallaby habitat suitability models. Camera arrays of eight units per site (264 total) were deployed between June 2022 and December 2023 for a minimum of 50 days where possible. Within each camera array, four cameras wer
