"text": "Camera trap data package from the Wildlife Observatory of Australia's Wildlife Camera Database. Dataset ID: QLD_Paluma_cassowary_Mclean_2023-24_WildObsID_0006. This camera trap survey was carried out to examine the population of cassowaries (Casuarius casuarius) in Paluma Range National Park. This was acheived by sampling many areas throughout the park and using colored lures (painted red and blue balls) that increase the likelihood of detecting cassowaries. Paluma National Park is the southern extent of the cassowaries range and little is known about their populations in this area. As this area is isolated from the rest of the Wet Tropics by sclerophyll forest is it important to understand if there are corridors the cassowaries are using to travel between fragments, or of this population is completely isolated Data accessed via WildObs (https://wildobs.org.au).",
