Descriptions

Description

Camera trap data package from the Wildlife Observatory of Australia's Wildlife Camera Database. Dataset ID: WA_CharlesDarwin_Mammal_Hall_2021-2023_WildObsID_0020. Australia's biodiversity is threatened by invasive species that degrade native vegetation and prey on native species. As part of Bush Heritage's mission to 'return the bush to good health', integrated management of rabbits, foxes and feral cats on three reserves in Midwest Western Australia attempts to reduce the impact of these threats on populations of native species and support ecosystem restoration. A network of remote monitoring cameras established in a replicated Before-After Control-Impact design compares fauna activity in managed areas relative to unmanaged references to evaluate outcomes. Data accessed via WildObs (https://wildobs.org.au).
