Descriptions

Description

Management actions in protected places should be directed at areas of the most value for conservation and for Traditional Owners. Developing methods to derive and integrate this information has been identified as a highest priority for Kakadu National Park. This project will identify locations in Kakadu that have high species richness, where rare species are found and that are important for bush food. The results will directly inform implementation of Kakadu’s strategies for weeds, feral animals, fire management and climate adaptation, and are relevant across northern Australia and other protected areas. The project will be co-designed and delivered with Traditional Owners and Parks Australia.
