Descriptions

Description
Consecrated life is a divine gift from God to the Church through the Holy Spirit, rooted deeply in the example and teachings of Christ (Pope Paul, 1996). Consecrated life communities, as described by Kanu (2019) and Noronha (2019), are unique societal structures where individuals, guided by the Holy Spirit, commit to poverty, chastity, and obedience, dedicating themselves to God and symbolising the life to come. This research aims to enhance understanding of leader-member relationships within these communities, thereby contributing to their overall well-being, and sustainability. The study aims to illuminate specific leadership approaches, leadership development, and subjective well-being and community environment within these unique settings. To achieve this, the study will employ a small-scale autoethnography, drawing on my personal experiences as a community member. Additionally, a combination of qualitative research methods, including semi-structured interviews and focus groups, will be applied to captivate diverse perspectives from leaders and members. The anticipated outcomes of this research include a comprehensive understanding of leader-member dynamics within consecrated life communities and practical insights to bridge generational and relational gaps. The findings could potentially inform leadership practices and contribute to the well-being of these communities, thereby having a significant societal impact.
