Description
The PhD project is an archival-based thesis on the economic ideas of Colin Clark (1905 - 1989) and its relation to Catholic Social Teaching. Archival papers will be collected from the Fryer Library at the University of Queensland, the State Library of Victoria, the Historical Commission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne, and the University of Melbourne. The project is a historical project of developments in Catholic Social Teaching and social thought with an emphasis in Australia, as well as the UK, and the USA in the 20th century. The main focus is on Clark's application of CST in the economic field. It will also examine his association with BA Santamaria, the Australian Catholic political activist.
