Description
This study aims to gain insight into the dominant pedagogy, knowledge and word-level teaching practises of Australian early primary teachers (classroom, learning support and/or literacy coaches) working with students in their first four years of schooling from Foundation to Year 3 (F-3). This research has a non-experimental mixed methods design that aims to collect two types of data: quantitative data via an anonymous survey (phase one), followed by semi-structured interviews from a random sample of Australian teachers (classroom, learning support, literacy coaches) working in Foundation (year before year 1) to year 3 classrooms (phase two & three). The research utilises both quantitative and qualitative methods. The methods are mixed as an anonymous online survey (using Qualtrics) was used to gather objective and measurable data. This data will be uploaded to and analysed using SPSS software. Interviews will be recorded on Teams and transcribed and analysed using Nvivo software.
