"text": "When Teacher Librarians (TLs) successfully collaborate with Classroom Teachers (CTs), the TLs’ knowledge and expertise are fully utilised, leading to improved student achievement (Lance et al., 2010; Lance & Kachel, 2018). However, in some schools, TLs are underused, and there is limited collaboration between teacher librarians and classroom teachers (Cooper & Bray, 2011; Wersebe, 2018). This research seeks to identify the challenges and opportunities of collaboration as perceived by TLs, CTs, and principals in Australian primary schools. This research undertakes three studies. Study 1 is a systematic scoping review of existing literature to understand the role of TLs in Australian primary schools. The scoping review will inform the design of a new model that demonstrates collaborative practices among TLs, CTs, and principals as they teach students to be digitally and information literate in the modern world. In Study 2, data will be collected through an online survey, where participants will be asked to define collaboration and the role of the TL, as well as to reflect on their current experiences and explain what TL-CT collaboration looks like in practice. Study 3 will involve qualitative, semi-structured interviews with TLs, CTs, and principals to gain deeper insights into collaboration, including the perceived challenges that hinder progress and the ideal conditions that support successful collaboration. This study aims to enhance educators’ understanding of what constitutes successful collaboration by providing solutions and future recommendations for TLs, CTs, and principals to strengthen partnerships within schools, along with guidance on their roles in TL-CT collaboration. This proposed PhD by publication aims to produce at least three papers, each derived from the three outlined studies, in an ongoing manner.",
