Description
The purpose of this project is to evaluate the management of women who present to an emergency department (ED) with nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (NVP) and/or hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) to develop recommendations for cost effective management and improved experience as both in- and out-patients. This project aims to quantify NVP and HG ED presentations, and determine the admission and management criteria for NVP and HG within the emergency setting. This will be achieved through a representative retrospective analysis of the Westmead Hospital ED database over a ten year period (2014-2024).
