Description

This project focuses on primary care nurses, whose role is crucial in ensuring access to healthcare, improving patient outcomes, reducing healthcare costs, supporting public health initiatives, and achieving health policy goals. Specifically, it aims to evaluate the preparedness of the Australian nursing workforce to address these opportunities. It aims to test the hypothesis that " the existing nursing education programs in Australia are not sufficient to equip graduates for effective job readiness in the primary care environment." This will be done by an analysis of training nursing curricula and then a comparison made between skills taught and those required to work in General Practice and Primary Care nursing.
