Description

This research project is designed to uncover the immunological drivers of treatment resistance in melanoma patients, specifically those who recur in the brain or exhibit disease progression before surgery while on neoadjuvant therapy. By identifying unique immune populations and markers of resistance, this project aims to better understand the underlying mechanisms that contribute to immunotherapy resistance and super progression in these patients. The insights gained could lead to the development or targeted therapeutic strategies the circumvent resistance and that can be further tested in mechanistic or pre-clinical models, ultimately improving patient outcomes and survival rates in these particularly challenging cases.
