The aim of this study will be fourfold. First, to explore the beliefs, perspectives and practices of early childhood (EC) teachers who identify as being play-based in their approach to teaching and learning and consider how these beliefs are reflected in the environment, early childhood curriculum, teaching pedagogies and learning experiences employed in PP-Yr1. Second, to investigate the beliefs and practices of children towards play and play-based teaching and learning. Third, to explore the beliefs and perspectives of parents towards play and play-based teaching and learning.
