Description
Intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) is the subtype of stroke with the most devastating consequences. Despite advances in the medical and surgical management of ICH, the one-month mortality rate is 35%. Trends in ICH have not been studied before in Western Australia. Therefore this study will use a linked dataset of WA hospitalisation and death records to assess trends in ICH hospitalisations. The study will also look at which surgical procedures are being performed and assess these trends. This project is a subset of an existing project titled 'The Real and Changing Atherothrombotic Disease Burden and Secondary Prevention'.
